Too Cute to Cut

My gorgeous baby sister turned 21 this month and I have been planning her birthday cake for months.  What started out as a 2-D boot, turned into a Corpse Bride/Nightmare Before Christmas cake, to my final design after she decided on her party theme.

She decided on two themes, a masquerade party/pyjama party.  So with her favourite colours being pink and black I decided to combine the two themes, and also make my first Mad Hatter cake!  After lots of studying and planning this was how it all came together.

The mask for the top.  This is handmade with black modelling paste, and covered in diamantes

I made a couple of black roses to go on the cake as well

The finished product.  I was really happy with how it came out and was definitely one of my favourite cakes so far.
